2020 Doeberl Cup
The Doeberl Cup is the longest running weekend chess event in Australia. Since 1963 it has been held every year in Canberra, Australia. Grandmaster Ian Rogers holds the record for the most number of wins (either outright or on tie-break) with 12. The Doeberl Cup was named after its primary sponsor, Erich Doeberl. 2020 Gold Coast Open – Cancelled
The Gold Coast Open is Queensland’s biggest chess tournament with a record attendance of over 180 players, including 5 GM's in 2018 . Then 2019 saw 176 participants! 2020 is set to be even bigger! 4 GM's have entered to date. An event not to miss as JETS is also on the Gold Coast in 2020.
