DESCRIPTION:The annual Perth International Open is Western Australia’s leading weekend chess event. It is a festival of 3 different tournaments run by the Chess Association of Western Australia. Whether you are a serious club player or a relative newcomer to chess\, there will be something of interest for all. \nThe 2024 Perth International Open will be a 7 round Swiss. All players in the Open must be rated above 1400 FIDE or above 1500 ACF. \nThe 2024 Perth Minor is another 7 round Swiss tournament\, running parallel to the Perth International Open. All players in the Minor must be rated below 1500 FIDE or below 1600 ACF. \nThe event will be hosted by the beautiful Rendezvous Hotel Perth Scarborough. Players will be able to enjoy Scarborough’s perfect beach\, art projects\, outdoor heated swimming pool\, children’s playgrounds\, laid-back cafes\, and a wide range of restaurants and vibrant bars along the beachside. There will also be some of the best chess that you will find anywhere. It has the makings of a memorable tournament.
