ACF Bulletin No. 107 - 11 March 2001
Oceanic Zonal, National University Teams Competition, ACF Grand Prix
2001,
The Italo-Australian Club 39th Doeberl Cup, The Sydney 2001 Easter
Cup
Arrangements have been finalised to stage the zonal at the Radisson
Resort,
Palm Meadows, Gold Coast from Sunday 22 April to Friday 27 April
2001. The
new FIDE time controls will be used which allows the event to be
completed
in six days. This will make the event more accessible to those who
can only
afford to take one week off work. The official organiser is Graeme
Gardiner
on behalf of the Australian Chess Federation.
The Open event
will be run as a swiss tournament. In the time available I
have not been able
to source a sponsor and therefore a small 'round robin'
would not be
financially viable.
